That would be a problem for small manufacturers like McLaren. GM sells lots of luxo Cadillacs. They can amortize the cost of the fancy switch gear over a lot more cars than say, Porsche. So as Kurt Bradley said- quit with the excuses.

It’s funny you mention that. I have a background in dealer ops management before taking up a career in building software and interface experiences... with a couple OEMs as past clients, and one of them was a certain Detroit-based make. So yes, I do have an idea.
These are the spec cars that people in Europe actually bought. If you ever see a BMW in Europe spec’d like a US one, you found the car of a very wealthy person.
So... you’re proud to be leasing an X1 CUV that shares the FWD chassis with the Mini?
The best way to handle depreciation is to not handle the depreciation. Just don’t figure resale value into your calculations at all. Work on what you can afford assuming $0 return when sold, and then on what you will enjoy the most. Don’t look at it as losing some resale money, look at it as buying yourself less…
One of the best 5 Series of all time right here.
Bradley, you’re spoiled.
BMW and Porsche consistently are the two top-rated automakers for quality. Or at least used to be.
woefully ignorant comment. not worth arguing
European standards are already generally higher in every respect, and their cars still manage to be faster, more powerful, more efficient, better refined, and generally five to ten years more advanced. And even you compare the cost to the wages earned by the average worker, they cost about the same.
I enjoyed this trailer, when does the movie come out?
with less than two Cullinans
I'll allow it.
Rebadging is fine IMO when it’s (essentially) the same car.
Ha! It amuses me that some Germans are putting Vauxhall badges on Opels as I was just thinking if I had a Vauxhall VX220 I’d be tempted to badge it as an Opel Speedster, on account of Vauxhall being British and therefore crap, whereas Opel is European and therefore ‘exotic’. I wouldn’t do it for any other Vauxhall, tho…
Except the TourX isnt a rebadged Insignia Sports Tourer though. its a rebadged Insignia Country Tourer. The Country Tourer has the plastic cladding the Sports Tourer doesn’t. Do Buick even sell a version of the TourX without the plastic cladding?
In Germany, Opel has been trying hard to brush up their image since the 1980s. They have failed. Unless that is different in the US / Opel has a better image than Buick I would not downgrade it with the Opel bolt. That being said, It would make the car look unique if that is what you’re looking for. For the same…
Damn it! I didn’t spell check the spell check! Sad to say, not the first time I’ve made that very mistake. Company-wide email about the phones going down. I apologized for any incontinence it may have caused!
My 2001 Audi S8 (D2 series) has the cutest little mini-sunshade-visor thing that lives BEHIND the rear view mirror... useful for the two times a year in the dusk/dawn light where the sun’s shining through that little slit behind the mirror just as you survey the mirror. Flip it down (it’s got a solid metallic…
It’s a matter of perspective, perhaps? A car sold at a profit is clearly worth more than the sum of the cost of the parts to the manufacturer.
