Big deal. I haven’t killed anyone in Britain in like 20 years.

“Volvo has made a shocking pledge: By 2020, no one will be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo car or SUV.”

The problem with doing the bullshit that Musk is doing is that if filters down to all other aspects of the company.

You say that, but when New York sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing corruption, they’re bringing adultery. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to White House guards and

Eh....I’m not sure I buy that the gulf is getting bigger. Rockefeller, Carnegie, Henry Ford....all these men were significantly richer than anyone alive today. I think some of the difference in the statistics you see is our ability to more accurately say who is really rich and who is not. Rich people could be A LOT

Ummm... no thanks.

Really, really nasty stuff gets into your tissues, and long term, you’re inviting skin cancer and all kinds of arthritis type problems.

To my mind it’s more about the nature of the gunk in question rather than the overall messiness level. I would prefer not to get too much used motor oil on my skin, so I put up with the sweaty hands as necessary.

Weaving tales that people believe is a skill, yes. Weaving reality “and vision” in a way that people believe is a skill. It’s a highly valued skill, in fact, as evidenced by the compensation of those folks who tend to do it frequently.

“Why Trump was elected” was deliberate and overt whipping up of nativist anger, artificially inflated fears of minorities taking jobs in sectors that were in natural decline, rash and unfulfillable promises to bring those jobs back and to rewrite society through some imaginary return to post-war realities, and the

I have strong ties to all the places you listed from school and immediate family (or both) so I’ve spent tons of time in all of them and none of them are anything like NYC. In fact, the most metropolitan of the places you listed-the suburbs of Boston-is my least favorite place on your list. The subtle yet obvious

I fully support Tom on this. Very FEW people understand it. we can’t talk about it enough!

First car is an MGA...

I’d hate Bird a lot less if (in West LA) people stopped riding them on the sidewalk and also leaving them in the middle of the ‘effing sidewalk (I’d hate to be an elderly/disabled person on a 4-wheel scooter trying to maneuver around the damn things). A lot of people on them are tourists with a “Wee, I’m on vacation!”

Perfect example of the concept. Anytime someone tells me they’re a libertarian, I ask them “what’s the libertarian solution to the tragedy of the commons?”

Hey man, upper management has to eat too. You think they can live on normal food? They need $60 a plate lunches and $500 bottles of wine to go with dinner. That shit ain’t happening if us regs can afford our power bill.

Tough one, they do like their cars in my town....

maybe the ucla thing was only audible inside the car... but what the frysians did was audible to all
