I have to say, Timothy Dalton in this film is one of the finest performances of any actor ever on screen.

I always thought he was a reach as a lotto pick, in what was in retrospect, a very top heavy draft but I would’ve never guessed that he would end up being one of the worst shooters at his position in league history. Even his free throw shooting has gotten marginally worse as a pro.

He’s a better college player than an NBA player. A little too slow to get by guys in the pros and too short to get his shot off effectively. And being a gunner on every other team in his pre-NBA life meant he doesn’t have the best grasp on the team concept. (See Fredette, Jimmer for another example.)

Between this and him speaking at the panel earlier this week, John Boyega seems like a really cool dude. I can only imagine what it feels like to go from being a fanboy to a movie star in the franchise you love so much. Good on him!

I think what we should take away from this is assume that all costume wearers at conventions are potentially someone awesome, which is usually the truth even if they’re not celebrities.
