The system is so complex that the dealership is unaware of the price for the car?

Nicky was a co-driver not a driver. Also you’re forgetting Tommi Makinen and his stint at Subaru.

“Do we just want dealers exterminated from the planet?”
Yes.
Absolutely yes. A thousand times yes.
No other sector of the market has dealerships. Literally only things with motors have them. Pretending like the dealerships are necessary to lower costs is just wild. There are dozens of major car companies, and competition

If 100% of dealer profits come from maintenance, selling tire insurance, paint protection, and loan origination fees then why do they not tell us exactly what a car costs? Why all the games with negotiating and manufacturer-to-dealer rebates? Why to two different toyota dealers in the same region charge different

The honest answer for most people is yes.

Considering new car sales only:

A person hospitalized for COVID-19 could be in the ICU for weeks. Then they could be in a rehab facility for weeks. That is hugely expensive.

Have a “shrinking” problem? Then talk to your doctor to see if Stellantis® is right for you.

Still got the spindle grill?

sadly, Jalopnik is sinking...

Can someone please show me a pic of a RWD, V-8 powered Acura Legend or RL? By my reckoning, there has never been such an animal. All Legends and RL’s have been FWD and V-6 powered. The 2nd gen Legend looked RWD and had a longitudinal V-6, but no V-8.

Was that 5 years old, or 5th grade? I can believe 5th grade. I think about 95% of 5 year olds would wreck the car in the driveway.  I know I did when I was 5... seriously! Car needed a tow truck after I ran it into a tree. The keys weren’t in the car, but the stick shift (and apparently emergency brake) were just too

Pretty sure thats a lambo dude.

You’re not wrong, but Ken didn’t start racing until he was like 36, so he was never going to be on par with the Sebs.

In case you are wondering how Han survived the crash in F3 (spoiler alert, lol). It was all a trick to decive your eyes. Otherwise known as...

“Stroll the elder”

I don’t see any reason to air my personal laundry in a post about autos. Also little Amos Yoder is doing fine, not that you ever ask.

500hp minivan? Mercedes did that years ago. Nobody bought it.

Wow, thank you so much for weighing in. This is so great to read. Do you think you could email me? I want to hear more about those days!

I worked for Tanabe Racing Development USA during this era and we had an extremely close relationship with Signal Auto. Riki is a really nice guy, I miss him. All of us- those who worked at Signal and those of us who worked at the variety of JDM manufacturers that had offices dotted around SoCal- were hardcore car
