What was it meant to do? You could ask the same question for the $130k GLS63 AMG. A $70-80k GLS450 would fit most people’s need with all the belt and whistles, just like an R/T Durango would fit the most. To me, the Durango SRT makes as much sense as the GLS63 AMG.

I actually use my Durango R/T to tow my race cars. It’s got plenty of power and makes a great tow vehicle. It also serves as an occasional family car and my winter DD.

It was meant to look cool and haul ass in a straight line. While looking cool and hauling ass it can also get your family and boat to your cottage.
