“UNBUCKLED SEAT BELTS FINE + POINTS.”

These are all used so the money already went into his pocket, but I understand your apprehensions

How about we work on “self drive not speeding up mysteriously” and “self drive not running red lights” and “self drive not running over children wearing the wrong clothes” before we worry about making sure everyone else on the road knows to give you a wide berth

Interesting, raising your voice is causing a disturbance but crashing your 5,500 pound SUV police cruiser through the front wall is apparently not.

$150M is the initial estimate. There’s sure to be cost overruns.

Oh come on

Get Lockheed to build them a $150 million sink to they can run it under warm water.

Agree 100%. With no new technology or infrastructure we could reduce consumption and emissions by huge amounts by getting people in more reasonable sized cars.

Only after factory-second Takata airbags are installed.

I don’t need to go 0-60 in under five seconds. I need range,

The cost of the car is a consideration. The main one for me is the charging. I live in a complex with no EV charging ability.

Yep. Exactly.

The key is fast charging that works.

So I’m a delivery driver who does around 30k a year. Here’s my issue with electric cars (I drive a hybrid right now and love it.) I need about 225 miles of range every day. I actually generally need about 175 but you never know when a day is going to be busy, and you might go an extra 50 miles. I also live 25 miles

I’m one of these people. My wife and I road trip year-round. We’re always chasing new places to kayak, ski, hike, camp, climb, and bike. I am totally interested in EVs. I will own one as soon as two things happen:

Isn’t it funny how others feel the need to question your travel requirements? Is it really any of their business? Like you, I’m not buying an EV until it can get to Detroit from where I am in NoMi on one charge like my ICE vehicles do, and it doesn’t matter how many times I want or need to do it. Not to mention how a

Honestly, meeting the required mpg requirements wouldn’t be that hard if every car didn’t need to have 250hp+.  In my 1980 Toyota SR5, I had a 1/2 ton pickup that could get 30mpg on the highway.  I wasn’t going to win any 0-60 competitions but nobody on the street needs to do that anyway.  It’s a lot easier to get

When we switched from giant gas sucking cars to smaller fuel efficient cars back in the 70-80s they were not MORE expensive, larger, and luxurious than the big gas hogs. They were smaller and cheaper. Something similar needs to happen with EVs.

So many problems with this.

EV cost is certainly a deterrent for many drivers. But lack of range must be a huge barrier for the highest mileage drivers, many of whom presumably are doing long trips in areas without good charging infrastructure (as opposed to huge miles in cities like taxis or delivery vehicles).

The

Until something is affordable and can do 500km in one go *in the winter* its just impossible for me to go EV.
