Albion Online (2017) is usually considered AAA, but you’re right that pretty much all the other big ones in the last few years have been from Asian developers. Mainly Nexon and NCSoft.

I mean, given it’s a game that’s got a heavy PvP focus and automatic local voice chat so squeaky-voiced teen strangers can shriek racist/homophobic/misogynist abuse at you and tell you how they’re going to rape you, yeah basically this is a worse version of Greedfall likely to be full of horrible children.
There’s no reason to believe they’re going to do anything good with PvE or the endgame, frankly. Nothing the devs have said suggests they have major ideas there, or are focusing on that. The game is in fact basically anthithetical to both in the core design. It’s like any number of trashy PvP-oriented MMOs from the…
“I’ve only come across a handful of negatives that directly criticize the gameplay.”
When people are unable to play a game that they’ve bought for whatever reason, then it is perfectly valid to criticize the game and leave a negative review. In cases like this the servers can only handle so many people and yet the publisher sold far more copies, kind of like overbooking a plane.
It’s not fair to consider a review with factual information regarding the current negatives of the game to be ‘review bombing’ and it needs to stop.

As opposed to my RX570, which is in the 50's. And I bought that, new, 2.5 years ago.
It’s hard to bash the gameplay when you can’t play the game.
This doesn’t make sense to me. Why would you want to play on a server with a big name streamer? They aren’t going to interact with you in a meaningful way, and most of the time they just sit around doing nothing.
That’s my worry honestly. I was a long time WoW player and I’ve been trying to find a replacement for that. Lack of an endgame and fully fleshed out PVE is concerning.
Comments like this don’t make any sense to me. “Don’t listen to all these people reporting server issues. They just don’t have servers online.”
I mean, it’s ~6 years/two significant generations old and is quickly approaching minimum game requirement levels.
I did not. That’s pretty cool - thanks for the heads-up.
Right, in a few weeks when the surge inevitably dips it will be a far better indicator of what the server queues will normally be like.
I’m absolutely shaking with anger. I am furious. I may even write a strongly worded Tweet about how upset I am!
I just can’t comprehend who thought an MMO based around colonization was good idea in 2021.
Except for the part that he rehearsed his original speech beforehand and knew what he was getting involved with?
