As an operator, I am 1000% opposed to this “Insider Connect” because it is absolutely obviously the beginning of the end of pinball as operators know it today. They’re using this as a lever to get operators to start connecting games so Stern can switch over to per-game payment models like Raw Thrills (“Big Buck

To me, it’s the discovery that you can have mixed vegetables that do not contain lima beans.

Those home appliances (electric versions) are all at least 80 years old. Even the microwave oven is more than 50 years old. (I would link, but Kinja... Wikipedia has good articles on each.)

I’m surprised about that lack of recognition for personal computing as well... after all, the computer is really an extension of our brain and memory capable of doing things we cannot do, but can at least think about doing. It has enabled many (most?) of the recent advances in science.

Sure, for a value of fifty equal to a hundred and twelve.

2 issues.

I’m still thinking through whether it’s a super-profound observation about the root of modern knowledge creation or someone who has their head so far up their own butt about their area of research that they’ve lost perspective.

Cook’s got a very controlled and moderated public persona*, and he would not break out of this while having a random conversation with the CEO of a small

He and Bradley are competing to win the “stupidest blogger” award.

Can you imagine anything worse than an Tapple fan?

Don’t believe everything that you read. You get a parking violation and a maggot on your sleeve.

Good job once again Raph. Writing an article with zero research and then updating it with the correction hardly 10 minutes later.

Nowhere near as poignant. The realization that the achievement is unobtainable is supposed to be unpleasant. That is the artist’s intent. Its an artistic choice. Not everybody is gonna like it. Thats ok.

It’s not the same thing if you can achieve it though.

Not playing a game you were interested in due to an achievement you can’t obtain is pretty ridiculous to me. I run for fun and while I’ve been able to qualify for some of the big name races I know I’ll never win, but to say, “I know I won’t win so might as well not even run”, Would be idiotic.
