She did warn us that she could teach us, but she’d have to charge.

Damn right, they’re better than yours!

Better than yours!

Let’s call a moratorium on the use of “articulate” in describing the speech of non-white people.

See, I would happily wear wigs 24/7 to achieve super curly hair (or any kind of curly hair, really) if they didn’t make my head HOT and ITCHY OMG I CAN’T COPE WITH IT. I mean I’m pretty much always too hot anyway, but adding a hair hat? I can last like 2-3 hours, but only if I’m drinking heavily. :\

I was often held accountable for the actions of the adults in my life at school. When I was in 1st grade my sister and I went to a different school for that years first semester. I hated it because we were always in detention for things we had no control over. My parents worked long hours so my siblings and I had to

It’s a step up from a mullet, that’s for sure.

This is actually super common, especially among public schools that make you wear a uniform. Khaki pants and a polo shirt in school colors. Anything outside of that gets you in trouble.

Remember when George W. Bush asked, “is our children learning?” They isn’t.

She is eight fucking years old. This is the parent/guardian issue and should have been dealt with by addressing them.

You have established why it’s a rule, and have established that, because it is a rule, it generally should not be broken.

So punishing the child for something the parent did is fair? I doubt this kid does her own school shopping.

It may be more because just about no one talks about female hair loss, ever, outside of cancer stories, or paparazzi photos of some former starlet with bald spots. Women don’t go bald. And those women you may see who have thinning hair, or bald spots — well, if they aren’t tragic, sexy cancer survivors, then they are

Must be. We have them all over the place here in KY, and the state is not exactly known for being in step with the times.

Wait...is this why people get mad when I call them “lady doctors” in an awed voice?

This problem also affects women, who are far more likely to have tight buns or tight braids. Funny how no one gives a shit about the group more likely to encounter this problem and more likely to face consequences for hair loss.

The only thing I hate about “man buns” is the name. It’s a bun, no need to gender the fucking thing.

Exactly, or tight braids or weaves. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tight man-bun.

why is this not a concern for women, who put our hair in tight buns, ponytails, and braids much more often?

I don’t get the man bun hate. I mean I’ve seen plenty of women with ugly haircuts. If you ever wore those ugly half haired bumps that were popular a few years back you can’t complain.
