Apple took something that was free that everyone loved, shut it down for a couple years, and then re-released it as a paid service... that is the mess I'm referring to. Google fixed it by making that once-free functionality free again.

According to the Engadget article: "matched songs will be available for streaming at 320Kbps like regular Google Play purchases, while re-downloaded music will be available at or close to the bitrate of the original file."

I remember when I used to be able to do this for free with Lala... then those asshats over at Apple had to buy them out...

A lot of people enjoy the hustle and bustle. Also, you miss out on holiday sales that way.

What are some of the costs that most first-time home-buyers don't think about? (things like maintaining a pool, for example)

I like how the Google Play Store tells you what version of apps the person was running when they reviewed the app. It was really funny to see yesterday, when the Facebook app got that major update, people were commenting things like "still really slow after the update" and they were still running v1.9. Some people are

On amazon, I just sort for the reviews voted "most helpful" (both positive and negative). Reading two or three of each usually tells a pretty good story. I factor in the average rating a little bit, but not as much as I do these "good" reviews. I pretty much don't trust any review system that doesn't allow voting, or

And call it Vandelay Industries

If you were already making the same elsewhere, you should have let her know how out of touch with reality her statements were, and then left. It's one thing for them to say no. It's another thing to make it seem like you've done something wrong.

It makes up for the low low raises and no bonuses... student loans put a considerable dent in it though.

stop it

Yea I suppose I was only looking at it from the perspective of an entry level salary. I suppose for people who have been in industry for a while and are going for some higher-level position, there is more to differentiate the candidates.

When I got my offer I tried to see if I could get it any higher. I was IMMEDIATELY shut down. Given the economy, I'd say that most companies don't really need to negotiate much, if at all, on salary. If you don't like what they're offering, there are usually several more candidates that will take the offer.

I got a good laugh at that one too. Every .1 over 1% that I get I consider a bonus (because we don't get any of those either)

I don't know how that guy gets the loop on that shoelace to stay. No matter how tight I tie mine, it comes undone with all the pulling it takes to maneuver the shoelace into the door. I've tried it a few times... and then I just call AAA and they come in <20 minutes.

This was the screen I bought www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TGX6X8

My screen replacement came with pre-cut adhesives that fit perfectly and stuck on there really well. In fact, it stuck so well I had to be reeeeeaaaalllly careful to get it on straight the first time... It's a sort of very-thin foam-like adhesive, so if you make the tiniest mistake and try to pull it off, it just

Yes, but in most cases, the blank will draw less power than the DIY blank made out of an old computer.

It is much faster in almost all respects. But the scrolling performance has taken a very noticeable hit. It is very laggy.

That's the problem with all of the Lifehacker projects of the model: "How to build _________ from an old computer"
