'Deep space' is a relative term that means whatever one wants it to mean. For some, anything beyond 10o0 miles or so. Some, at least beyond Lunar orbit. For some, interstellar...

For some (sadly), the moon just isn't 'sexy' enough...

For tsunamis, they know to head for high ground/away from coast.

No, just one well-placed one for deflection.

And (as illustrated in 'Deep Impact') there are so many amateurs doing observations, that there's a limit to how long any secret could be kept...

"What does that look like? A bunch of rich guys taking a day trip into space..."

So? This would tend to fall on the Department of Defense's shoulders, more than NASA.

"I say don't worry about it. There's a 70% chance it'll just hit water anyhow. And I live far enough inland that I don't have to worry about tidal waves. Unless, of course, if it hits water and boils away the ocean and we all die."

"If they knew they couldn't, they'd never go public until it was visible to the naked eye."

Phantom body pain...?

"Please only revive me if y'all can fix this miserable excuse for a body..."

"research may be stopped if people at that time no longer see the need for cryogenic preservation"

To paraphrase what someone once said of war;

"Consider also all it takes is losing power to the refrigeration systems and not getting fuel for the back up generators for all of today's "cryonaunts" to thaw and spoil. "

"And why do most people call it "cryogenics"? It's like calling bionics in orthopedic medicine "biologics"."

"This is a big gamble personally id rather have longevity achieved,considering i am just 20 now i expect myself to be living till 200 or more,if scientific progress continues and if they find a way to reverse aging,i know some of you may scoff when i say 200,but as research on longevity continues and better treatments

"if there is "intelligent life" elsewhere in the galaxy, i bet we are the most brutal specie around"

Their demographics seriously overlap, it's true...
