You’re probably right, at least in part. But I also think my parents are better at not micromanaging than hers. My sisters don’t seem to get the grief that my girlfriend does. My GF is a superstar who doesn’t deserve the wringer her parents put her through.

OK, so “parenting” maybe wasn’t the right word. My parents respect that I’m a fully formed person and they don’t waste any time trying to shape my personality anymore. They’re available for support and guidance if I seek it, but otherwise it’s almost a relationship of equals.

Your description could apply with about 98% accuracy to my family, too. Does your mom get bent out of shape that she sees you less than the rest of the family? “I feel like nobody loves me anymore!” is a recurring complaint. No mom, we still love you ... but man are you unpleasant to be around.

Shoot, I knew I missed a step. Quick, where’s the nearest khaki-colored jacket emporium?

Smurph just needs someone to show him his place in all this.

I’m Gen X, and I think millennials are great. There’ve been some goofballs, but most of the millennials I’ve worked with have been hard workers and serious people.

This is so true. At some point my parents gradually eased into treating me as an adult, but my girlfriend’s parents never got there. She’s more successful in her job than either of them ever were, and yet they look down on her and give her unsolicited advice and/or criticism constantly. They’re still trying to parent

Let the past die. Kill it, if you have to.

If they want, Lando could be the key to rebuilding the Resistance in Episode IX. Assume Leia is gone and Poe is in charge now, and he finds Lando running some non-aligned worlds off in the periphery. Or, skip that and just introduce Lando as the head of the Resistance, with Poe as his right-hand man, in IX. Kill him

BECAUSE HE WAS LOADED, OK?!?!!!

Middle Codswobble was annexed by Greater Glubbleton and converted into a massive canning operation.

I’m not saying she should get a pass. I’m saying let’s clear out the abusers before we move on to the enablers. The stick-up men who shoot store clerks are of more concern to me than the getaway drivers, even though the drivers are of course culpable and should face serious repercussions.

Yeah, Mikkel was really great, and the show wasn’t as good after it totally abandoned his point of view. That kid is a good actor. Plus, the reveal of who he becomes is super disappointing.

I think my favorite episodes were the opener and the first episode set in the past. There was a focus in those episodes that the rest of the series lacked. It’s so sprawling you can easily forget entire plotlines and feel lost when they’re revisited.

I gave you a star. How did it feel?

It’s just down the road from Lower Codswobble. Which of course is a mere jaunt from Upper Codswobble.

Aww, I responded the way I did because I thought you were calling me a dick, and now that you’ve made it clear that you weren’t ... it makes my response dickish. Now the irony is on the other foot, or something like that.

I mean, I was interested, but interested in the same way I’d be interested if someone was explaining the key features of a highly efficient tractor engine. I’m a curious person, and complexity and quality will grab my attention, but a Spock-like expression of “Fascinating” is the most dramatic response I could ever

Our parents started using the internet, and then our kids.

When I first hit play on this show, Netflix gave me the dubbed version instead of subtitled. Had to change that right away.
