The single player has been a pretty big mess: a convoluted and boring story with missions that didn't really add anything to the spectacular ones from Wings of Liberty.

Yup, exactly this. +1

West coast here, about 1pm, logged in no problem, have been playing all morning.

I'm sorry, has no one played Alice: Madness Returns? Alice had perfect hair, powered by PhysX. This isn't new stuff, it's just new to people with AMD cards.

I quite loved Golden Abyss, and actually enjoyed it more than both Uncharted 1 and 3. What didn't you like about it exactly? I felt it was very cinematic, had fantastic platforming and was actually filled to the brim with a very interesting story.

My PS1 games were so scratched, that the machine would play the first start up sound, and stick for about 20 seconds on it playing nothing before moving on to the second sound.

Difference there is that once people actually played DmC and got over themselves about the character change, the game underneath was actually good. Seems like this game; not so much.

I'm completely baffled. That's fantastic. My God.

What the other guys said. I actually don't much care for the game, I'm more interested in the game engine. It looks fantastic, way better than Construct 2 or Game Maker.

They were just asking too much. I fear the same fate will come about for the new Commander Keen project that I backed. Just too much for what they were offering.

Sweet, nice to see some people around Kotaku live in Fairbanks. My hometown, man!

Gravity Rush, man! Play it and be happy, as it's a superb new IP!

That would certainly be interesting. I look at indie games as the place where brand new ideas can be sparked because they don't have publishers breathing down their backs. Sure, the game may suck or never be finished, but their idea would be there, and if enough people like it, another developer with more experience

Agreed. It's very easy to make a puzzle platformer, hence why there are tons of them. And indie developers seem to be very focused on storytelling recently, which is why puzzle platformers are more popular because they are slower and easier to integrate a story.

Yup, yup, I totally understand that. Metriod Fusion was fantastic because it managed to mix very fun platforming and storytelling in with puzzle solving and exploration. There are no shortage of very good platforming puzzle games. I'm just sad that there really aren't any developers besides Nintendo making just pure,

Oh, right, I was more talking about platforming puzzle games which there are TONS of. I can see the disconnect.

I thought the inherent concept of that game made the controls quite finicky. Having to switch between personas on the fly made for unnecessarily hard jumps that I found frustrating.

I would heartily disagree. I've been searching for a platformer that really captures the essence of Super Mario World for about four months now. I've been looking every single crack of the internet, and have yet to find a platformer that is piece for piece what SMW did best: incredibly fast, with perfect tight

Is anyone else tired of puzzle platformers?

Enjoy! :D
