They tend to enter with VISA’s and over stay which isn’t criminally prosecutable and also means that they can disappear easily. I realize that immigration laws serve a purpose. But if I was in a country where my children were in danger, or where poverty was inescapable, I’d do whatever I could to get them out. Responding to illegal immigration in such a punitive fashion is just cruel.

Omg I don’t know why a therapist would do this. Tell him/her immediately, even though it will be awkward. Say a few sentences about it and firmly go back to whatever you’re in therapy for.
