@jeffk: that's so awesome!
I see your point! It's true. I'm just reacting to the yogurt (it's in a picture, try not thinking about it!) situation. It's just frustrating to see food producers trying to capitalise on the fear of fat, and then replacing fat with stuff that's worse for our bodies (sugar, other chems), as is common with .. yogurt.
Got my bike off craigslist, an old Supercycle (Crappy tire) road bike that's holding together pretty well, for $40. One of my best purchases ever. Been riding it hard most of the year for 3+ years. Do minor tune-ups and adjustments myself every few months. Only had to bring it into the LBS when I got stuck in…
Can we get a PA out that fats are actually not that bad? I mean, our bodies actually need fat to function. Our brains require a lot of fat. It's sugar that we need to be consuming less of, but commercial products advertise less fat because fat has become equated with bad.
@wickedcupofjoe: This is why I've started making my own yogurt. Most of the yog on the shelves nowadays are "light" and "lowfat" but have a lot of sugar.
@infected: This!!! I hate that everything has become "light" and "lowfat" but it has so much sugar in it!
I dunno. I used a Crumpler messenger for years and years for my 14" Thinkpad, travelling through a lot of Southeast Asia on all sorts of transportation, walking, etc. All I got from that was a lifetime of effed-up back and shoulder muscles. Never got mugged or anything. I just switched to the $12 backpack from MEC, I…
Heh, easy to say, but you gotta practise first to get the skills down before you can do the thing well, mindlessly.
How *much* I *should* be eating? Veggies (mainly green leafy things) - as much as possible. Generally more in quantity than other parts of the meal (carb/meat) combined.
Lifehackered, I think.
I dunno. If you're not a serious athlete, I'd question the need to eat like one.
eugh.. I don't use canned fruit. If I can't get fresh I get frozen instead.
@Krogenar: what makes you think only straight men read lifehacker?
this thread is making my nose itch.
ziplocks are great and take up less space than pelican cases. I guess they won't protect your precious iphone if you drop it in the street and it gets run over, but that'll happen without having the travel, too.
@isaaclyman: XD
@RGLarson: thank god for screw-top caps on bottles!
Rice water too, if you rinse your rice before you cook it. Super nutritious stuff, apparently.
