this is the version i am going with. The Kid is evil and there was no alternate world. Which then means that Ruth was not traveling through alt dimensions but just truly had Alzheimer’s. Which i am glad for because i did not want them to diminish Alzheimer’s by making it be magical.  The Queen episode was amazing.
