I’ve got insomnia so I crunched the numbers . . . of course she feels new. Excluding the pre-Disney + TV shows that may not be canon and certainly had less reach outside serious fans, every other MCU property is from 1976 or earlier. Only Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, and the Eternals are from even the 1970s.

It is a little weird to simultaneously hold in your brain the facts that Superman predates Pearl Harbor by three years, the X-Men central conflict is based on MLK and Malcolm X but every character after that still feels like an upstart, and also that Kamala Khan has already existed for 11% of the total history of

I assumed they were adding the SA in this instance specifically because the Khans have Pakistani heritage and Pakistan is more central than western? It doesn’t seem like there’s any term that’s elegant, complete, but not over inclusive. Arabic or Islamic world both have issues and are incomplete, Middle East centers

You’re pretending it’s narrower than it actually is to make your point. UN definition of domestic abuse: Domestic abuse, also called “domestic violence” or “intimate partner violence”, can be defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate

Redmayne’s description makes a lot of sense as it positions his casting not necessarily as the problem in itself but as a symptom of the problem which is really lack of representation behind the scenes. If the film had been directed, written, produced by trans people, the entire film would have been more authentic to

HE made it about physical abuse. There's nothing in the very short statement he sued over that's specifically about physical abuse.

What in the statement at issue refers specifically to physical abuse?

Almost nothing is definitive in these kinds of studies, but here's one that supports my point. It's an interesting methodology. https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/spoiler-alert-spoilers-make-you-enjoy-stories-more

It's from an eight year old comic, there's no guarantee they'll keep the same character choices, and studies show spoilers actually increase enjoyment of media. Chill out.

Southwest Asian, North African, and South Asian. You can find a map if you Google. It does seem like a fairly recent update to Middle Eastern or MENA (Middle Eastern North African)

My read was that the “Latinx” remark wasn’t a joke, it was illustrating the exact kind of awful Alysia Reiner’s character is. So far she seems very reminiscent of Fig, Reiner’s character from OITNB. Addicted to power, prejudiced, cruel, but canny enough to learn just enough PC masking to keep her position.

A little bit weird to focus so much on a relatively minor change from the comics while also being #TeamKamran? He gets like 5 pages of being crushable in the comics before turning into a villain. I’m assuming the Nakia change is because the show wanted a reason to delve more into Kamala’s masjid community. The little

That’s far from conclusive. Lots of queer masc women and gender non-conforming or trans people have experienced a confusing “wait, do I want to be this person or screw this person” interest that mimics infatuation.

Or even better, Wakanda like in the comics. There are some choice jokes in the comics about Bruno’s Wakandan friends coming back with him to visit and treating Jersey the same way white voluntourists treat African countries. It’s so primitive! Get a pic of me helping these underprivileged Americans!

In the comics, Kamran is also an Inhuman and does get close to Kamala on purpose to recruit her to the baddie Inhuman side. Not looking forward to the comic's meaning of Crushed, which is Kamala getting her heart bruised by the revelation.

China has dictionary contests, where you have to look up a word in a non-alphabetic system. It sounds both harder and less entertaining than a spelling bee, as well as a indication your written language is fairly ridiculous for the modern world.

Where have you found specifically which statement they found defamed Heard? None of the articles I'm reading are getting that specific and I can't find the actual jury verdict document

But there's not a legal remedy for being irrational. There is a legal remedy if the jury didn't correctly understand the law they were applying which seems like it was the case here.

Read the special verdict form, it’s really clear when you look at the statements against Heard that the jury screwed up. And not just by being irrational, by being completely contradictory about the facts.

True. I was more emphasizing that no one is asking for everyone to support Ingram, just to refrain from bigoted attacks.
