If I’m being honest, I have a hard time seeing the good. I don’t think I’ve looked at a picture of Kobe Bryant in the last 15 years without my first thought being “rapist.” Lots of men move on and forget. Women, particularly those who have been subjected to sexual violence at the hands of men, don’t necessarily just

Yes. This case is one of the best examples out there of a victim doing everything right in the aftermath of an assault and still getting totally chewed up by the system. She told a friend. She went to the hospital. She got an exam done. The exam documented evidence, including bruising around her throat (Bryant choked

A least u mentioned the rape, but let’s not act like this was a she said he said case. There was a lot of damning evidence against Kobe. He clearly raped her and u can admit that and still talk about the good he did and the legacy of his career. People are complicated and we can be honest about the good and the bad.

Environmental toxicologist here - it won’t rinse out, it’s used to water proof clothing.  However, these are large compounds that are not likely to cross the skin barrier in high enough concentrations to cause the cancers associated with PFAS, those are caused by this chemical primarily in drinking water.  So unless

If Joe is the nominee it would prove that the Democratic party doesn’t learn nor listen. It’ll be 2016 all over again with a candidate who is basically telling people who are hurting that there’s not a damn thing they can or will even attempt to do to help which isn’t going to get the base out.

Correct me if my interpretation of your comment is incorrect, please.

I was reading on a Reddit thread where one person said their organization had switched to saying “Honored guests...” which is gender neutral and still maintains a certain level of formality.

“I don’t wanna hear that white people are the fucking plague all the time!”

This is how you know it’s pure racism in it’s most potent form. No typical movie theater employee has the time for that nonsense with the usual stuff they have to deal with.

Mari Kondo has built an empire convincing people that they could be happier if they just get rid of nearly everything in their homes by emotionally recognizing the value of the item, thanking it, and letting it go on to some other life.

Insensitive, yes - but still a sound critique: a famous person’s platform used to tout a potentially dangerous fast on a fan base that’s likelier to not know any better can still be fatal. Her not being black/not trying to understand some of the cultural aspects that come with our bodies does sting like hell, yes. But

I also find “Would you like a hug?” is better than “Can I have a hug?” because then the question is about what they want, and lets them not have to worry that you’ll have hurt feelings if they say no.

And definitely don’t INSIST on hugs. There’s way too much insisting.

when I was a kid, most adults were cheek-pinching assholes. Also don’t ask for hugs or shit like that, it makes kids vulnerable to older adults.

Because you’re just nobody.

Jim Spanfeller isn’t a herb, as that would imply flavor. He’s uniodized salt.
Jim Spanfeller looks like a generic Legoman.
Jim Spanfeller looks like he gets turned on by tubesocks.
Only guys who wear dockers to relax have names like SPAN FELLER.
Jim Spanfeller is what happens when a wasps nest falls into a vat of mayo.
Jim

Interesting, let me try something here:

Jim Spanfeller has the hair of every forgettable NBA coaching failure from the 80s.

Jim Spanfeller is such a herb, even the Americans are pronouncing the ‘h’.

I have a related question - which, if this isn’t the place to ask it, perhaps can be addressed in another column.

I’m not American so for me the problem is even more fundamental than the length of the school day. I find it shocking that school’s budgets depend on the income tax of the area they’re in, rather than city taxes being redistributed equally among all the different school sectors. A public school in a rich neighborhood

I am a CPS parent and I say, give them what they want. I would go further and cap charter school growth (which I believe they did in LA) - they perpetuate the segregation and they take public funds while not being held accountable to the public for results or proper spending.
