Indeed, I wonder how many people quit reading the pre-review and made a negative judgement once the term “whitewashing” was thrown out. The SJWs probably got their panties in a bunch, clutched their pearls and swooned.
Hear hear. And in the cast of GitS, the complaint gave excuse to bad mouth the movie. It wasn’t really an outstanding movie. It was an attempt to start a new franchise by doing a superhero origin story. The material would have been better handled as a 10 episode series.
A few points, as I only saw the film last night.
Oh, I’m so sorry that “The Post” didn’t get a nomination. The whole thing and especially the poster for it screams: THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MOVIE! I’m glad it got snubbed. “She Knew”
My goodness the Master disguised as Zathras (almost).
Right!. This was a really run of the mill episode—average at best (That means a “C”)

This is an IMPORTANT movie. You must rate it highly because it is IMPORTANT. It sends a message. It has Streep and Hanks, and they are big guns—you can’t let them down. And most of all it’s part of “The Narrative”
This line: “... strains conceal some pretty lacerating observations about all those drunk, distant boomer parents who drove their kids into the hairy arms of bohemia.” Huh? WTF? It was the parents of the Boomers he was talking about. Too much bile to get your timeline correct?
So, is casting Japanese actors in a setting that is Europe-like “Yellow washing” ? (I frankly dont care if the actors are good)
Did anyone really expect Al Franken to be any different from any other privileged Hollywood jerk? Perhaps the voters in Minnesota will drive him from office. I doubt he would go on his own.
The trouble is that he wasn’t
