No, but as I said, they are at least 2 (maybe 3) years from deliveries so that would seem like enough time to make a change if it was deemed necessary.

Point taken...but in Tesla’s case the answer still would have been to design a sedan without a glass roof that prevented a reasonable trunk opening.

Yeah, we’re looking at the Diono Radian R100/120 as an option once they both are FF but I have a thing about feet/shoes on the backs of the seats so regardless it’s going to be a challenge.

First deliveries are almost 2 years away (late 2017/early 2018) and with Tesla’s history of hitting dates that could easily push to mid-late 2018 or even later.

Not sure if you;re comment was serious but I don’t think many folks looking at a $35k car are going to decide to pay $80k for a trunk.

Form over function is the wrong choice when you are looking at a high volume model to appeal to the mass market. It’s fine if you’re looking to sell 911 kind of volumes but not C-class kind of volumes.

By age 4 I would total agree. We have a 2 year old and a 2 month old. We strap the newborn in to a Bjorn which is easy but if we’re going somewhere that requires more than 5-10 mins of walking the stroller is a requirement for the 2 year old. Those little legs don’t move very fast and rarely in the right direction...

Except it’s not a full size, it’s a mid size according to Edmonds and every other authority on the subject. And in that segment it was out sold by the 5 series and the E class. Hell, even the MKZ out sold it, although it did manage to beat the A6.

Not even trying? Easy there sparky.... While the reservation figures are certainly impressive there was a massive effort, hundreds of thousands of man hours and hundreds of millions of dollars invested to get it to this point which is essentially a concept reveal (albeit a close-to-production concept). That’s a lot of

I dont own one so I’m going off of the owner feedback on Tesla’s forums. Those first hand accounts suggest these things do in fact effect range by measurable amounts.

Well gasoline only accounts for about ~25% of world oil production (this includes commercial uses) and these plug in electrics are still only a novelty in first world nations, never mind the developing world.

Have you thought about a stroller? Or hell, even a diaper bag? We struggled with a 5dr GTI with the first child. Now, with two it’s impossible to go anywhere with both parents and both kds when a stroller is needed.

You’re right, but. Think his point is journos like Ballaban making the claim that it isn’t an issue even for the small portion of the population who do have that requirement. I agree with him that the fanbois tend to try and dismiss the legitimate challenges, even when they are niche issues, rather than just focus in

Well, we all know from MPG ratings how accurate the EPA is in it’s estimates. The forums on Tesla’s site list real world usually coming in around 70-80% of rated depending on what part of the country you live in and what time of year it is, what kind of driving you do (city or highway) along with other variables like

No, it looks like slightly photoshoped Model S

ICE will be nothing but a hobby in 30-40 years

I believe Musk. It will cost that little. I also belive you will have to pay for options such as sun visors, floor mats and a passenger side mirror. Think Kia Rio levels of standard features.

Also, the whole Hertz Mustang thing is more of a branding/PR exercise than an attempt to generate profit. I would not be surprised to find that the acquisition costs came form a marketing budget rather than general operations budget.

I agree on the one hand, but seeing as they are only building 140 of them I wonder if there would not be sufficient demand amongst those who can use their left foot to still log enough bookings to meet revenue expectations?

Toyota/Honda pricing except Chrysler reliability, fit & finish and resale value.
