Well I can only speak for myself but another major factor is that nowadays there seems to be a major catastrophy every day of the week.

Hey Adam, Lifehacker has been a source of information and inspiration for me for quite some time, and since I can't think of any question right now I'm just going to say:

yeah thats my problem too, I´ve been registering, socializing, uploading, downloading, playing, reading, lurking, contributing and testing my way through the net for well over ten years now .. and I am interested in many different things so it´s impossible for me to remember every single site I´ve ever registered on.
