This is what gets missed with the question of if the Democrats should run progressives or centrists: “Progressive” is relative. Doug Jones is one of the most conservative Democrats in the Senate, but he’s a senator from Alabama that is pro-choice and pro-LGBT rights. Relative to the state Doug Jones is as progressive

The Democrats have never run an extreme hard-left candidate tho dogger

Liberal principles means a lot of things to a lot of different people. Running a far left candidate in this district would have been a mistake. Lamb is the perfect match of candidate and district - centrist on some issues, liberal on others. He didn’t run against Trump, either.

How did this race show anything like that?

That kind of frothing-at-the-mouth rage doesn’t really work with Democrats.

Leftist candidates are polling better than centrists. Diane Feinstein can’t even get the support of her party in her own state.

(Also the unemployment rate is a bad metric because when people simply give up on finding a job, they’re no longer “unemployed”.)

Well, the Koch and Sinclair deals are actual things that exist. I can’t prove the “nazi conspiracy” but who knows.

The centrist regulars seem to be lapping it up, as well. It’s troubling in that usually they’re a bit more rational (or at least can spot shit-stirring trolls).

I absolutely love that you post this gif without a shred of irony or self awareness. Never change.

Oh yes, the fact a centrist won is SO DEVASTATING in a race that had how many hard-left candidates?

This is your second comment on this topic. In a previous comment, you talked about quasi-communists. I’m curious what “hard left” or quasi-communist means to you. Because around 75% of the Dems in congress are centrists or center left.

This. Why would any of them (GOP) be afraid of him at this point? So what he’s gonna give you some stupid nickname? He can’t generate votes.

Yeah, the REAL story here is all this damned media attention. Ignore the overt and violent racism, parents, and instead turn your damning gaze towards the newsfolk.

GOP candidates, especially ones in competitive races have to be wondering if having Trump lobby for them is a kiss of death at this point and they’d be better off having him stay as far away as possible.

Gotta hand it to these conservative assholes, they know how to play their shit. Between this, the Sinclair network shit and the thing I heard this morning about the new national group that seeks to install judges everywhere, trying working hard on the indoctrination shit.

The centrists sure are getting pissy, lately.

No, you’re just too stupid to know that “indicator” and “bellwether” mean basically the same thing in this instance.

How would you know that based on this, given that nobody in the race was one of those and the milquetoast centrist troop barely beat his opponent?

Because they can’t stop thinking about us, and getting into our business. Like how white people comment on a black section of a website.
