I thought they had some in a previous season (they definitely had some on the Enterprise in Star Trek Into Darkness).

Yeah, that was definitely an issue I picked up on (as well as wondering why you would even need to invade multiple points in history when you could just invade the earliest one and then you can have everything). Stuff like this does bring down the episode unfortunately.
I lagged a little bit behind on this finale (thank God for the handy ability to pause and fast forward live TV when you need to) but thankfully was able to see all the Mallory tribute stuff as it was airing. While a little clunky and by necessity it was still a very solid send-off.
I have a little hope for this season in so much as while the whole Hopper death thing was obviously not gonna stick, the dynamics that will come out of this new set-up could be good. Nancy and Jonathan are now apart which I think will be good for their characters for a bit. And Eleven having to live without her powers…
It worked mainly cause of Joe Kerry’s charm and that even in S1 you can still understand Steve’s actions pretty well. It never feels like he’s doing jerky things just cause. So him becoming more humble was a pretty natural move.
I definitely enjoyed this one a lot more than you did, tho the review does bring up a fair point that this might have possibly worked a bit earlier in the series, especially if you consider one of the points of the S11 finale is that Archer may not have been the main cause of everybody regressing, tho it’s possible…
I think I ended up seeing a little bit of it after it was mentioned in the review for The Box.
I find this funny cause the idea of him being in a cop show was something that had me interested in the show (didn’t watch it til it was on Netflix and the reception seemed good).
I think The Box is still locked in as my fav ep of the series overall. The lead-up to that confession was something else!
Was weirdly thinking about that bit a few days ago.
Oh yeah, I had forgotten about the balloon arch callback. VINDICATION is definitely one of the all-time BNN moments (I even made a video meme with it at one point).
This finale definitely played to the show’s strengths. Definitely a wise move to wrap up the season’s plots before this to let this be the playful wrap-up it could (tho the Kevin/Holt stuff was a highlight). The premiere of this season had me concerned but this really ended the series on a good note.
I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned Cheryl’s SUPERVISOR callback!
Got to be honest that callback felt a bit forced the the rest of Holt’s antics made up for it.
I guess my other question would be why did they not think about going through the window to open the door?
Netflix used to have this. After some time I eventually found a site that just tells you when stuff is gonna be leaving Netflix within the month and it’s been very useful.
I feel the people at Marvel are the biggest obstacles for that at this point.
I’d say Season 3 was better if only cause the landing was stuck a lot more.
“AoS, on the other hand, at it’s worst, never got stupider than AC was on any average week.”
Thank God, if nothing else his performance has been one of the high points of this show.
