That makes sense. It’s pretty easy to get to that part of town. Every freeway leads there, basically. It’s always congested on the I-15 but the 215 roads are usually pretty tolerable.

I say “SAT” but I mean any of these tests.
The greatest and most useful thing I learned is that it’s better to go to a local university UNLESS you intend on living in a large urban West or East coast city after graduation. Local schools, not even State but also private ones, are the feeders to local exec positions, government, etc.
Along with a host of other behavior, starting in grade or high school, that make you either a truly well-rounded brilliant person OR a grade-grubbing opportunist sociopathically attempting to “game” the system so as to satisfy your parent’s egos.
I understand the point of the test. It’s a winnowing tool.
Yeah it’s a load of nonsense. I was in one of the last years when it was 2 sections, so max score was 1600. My younger sister had the 2400 test. We both did very well. She after 4 years at a high end prep school, me after dropping out of highschool officially in 10th grade, functionally in 9th grade. And her current…
SATs are mostly bullshit. EXCEPT if you’re bound and determined to go to a Top 25 or Top 10 school. Then, it’s mandatory. I’m from Canada where we don’t have SAT’s, I now live in the US and have a high school junior and I recently became aware that the whole SAT thing is not some sort of government sanctioned test but some private company’s test. I don’t know why I’m shocked by this..
No shade on Patel (GET MONEY!) but SAT testing are part of the horrible, expensive and, frankly, sickening scam of which higher education is a direct part as well as aiding and abetting.
Holy shit really? That’s where they’re putting the NHL rink? Goddamnit. That’s already one of the most congested, awful parts of the I-15 and one over the slowest streets to cross the Strip (Tropicana is just awful for that stretch of time). Ugh.
It was during the Las Vegas Posse’s one season in the CFL, 1995.
“I just got back from swimming in the pool, and the water was cool!”
Dear Mr. Phelps,
Phelps may be known for the fly, but the other guys are killing him in breast.
All that gold doesn't cover up the bronze
I also live in Las Vegas. Everything you said is 100% correct.
Vegas and the Raiders are perfect for each other
They will NOT get a publicly funded stadium here in Vegas. We have repeatedly voted them down, from a MLS Stadium downtown, to a complete rebuild of UNLVs football stadium, to that new Arena that MGM Inc built behind the Monte Carlo for a NHL team, they got no public money. Luckily for the Raiders, Sheldon Adelson…
For two decades Los Angeles has served as the NFL’s bogeyman, lurking just out of sight as an implicit threat to any…
