Why shame the parents, whose interaction was probably “you want to go to this” Kid “no” . That doesn’t seem cruel, most probably don’t even know the kid or the situation. My 3rd grader has 24 kid’s in his class and I know maybe three of them, none by name. Wouldn’t even be possible to go to every one of their parties…

IDK though. Isn’t it important to teach kids that they have the right to consent to be around someone? What happens when you teach your kid “if someone invites you to something you have to go, even if you don’t want to” and then some guy “invites” them to come over alone...
