To the poster seeking a new car - check with an ENT and/or Physical Therapist who specializes in “Balance Therapy.” There are various maladies that can cause motion sickness. Many of them can be treated or even corrected. May not be a need to acquire a car to overcome a condition that may be treatable! Best of luck,
No “need” to get one; just a deep want. I miss the ability to go where few are and the current daily is pavement-only. Patience is wearing thin though and I’m really not thrilled to see insta-influencers receive them for a year gratis or big-city-stealers get inventory while folks who reserved in good faith are…
Thanks for this write-up! Though this will be daily-driver, it will live for the weekends when the world can be explored. I’ve been waiting for my 2-door badlands since July of ‘20 and remain hopeful it will arrive before ‘23. Articles like these keep me from headed over to Jeep for a Rubicon 4xe... though I admit it…
What? Back then, they only had megaphones and 2-way radios; not a gun in the set!
Not really “old,” but late 80's - early 2000's car “check” computers... Nothing that would strand, just blink and bong “tail gate open” (even when clearly closed; early 90's Grand Cherokee) or “check brake-lights” (even when everything was clearly working just find; early 90's take-your-pick model BMW)
second In-n-out, but before 11:30 or between 2:30-4:30 so you don’t have to wait in line forever.
I’ve been searching for a company to either drop my ‘49 Mercury body on a Tesla skateboard or electrify my old ‘49 (PHEV or full election; either aok). She’s a Frankenstein of a dozen different cars and non-original. (‘49 Mercury body (chopped/channeled/sectioned) with a ‘64 t-bird interior, Cadillac wheels, Desoto…
Random rant:
Agreed @ArrestMeRed. This “writer” and others have taken over what was once a good source for automotive information. Now it’s a bunch of OPA (Opinionated-Political-Aholes) all the time. What the heck Jalopnik; where have you gone?
BMW knows it, at least every few models... 2002 roundies, Z8 Neon, i8 light/aero blades, M3 gts OLED, etc.
2nd gear: “It’s good that we put the petty questions of “ownership” of ideas behind us for the greater good of increasing EV development and national battery production, right?”
But not for all. Chills and a low-grade fever for less than 24 hours (though I did sleep for most of them!) and I was one of the early ones directed to get it because of other health challenges (in my 40's and Moderna). Some get hit hard, but it seems like most are tired/fatigued for a day.
Agreed:
CSI Miami in reverse look. Like it.
The CSI Miami in reverse look. Like it.
1991-2ish... Suburb of STL. As was the norm in STL, we rarely, if ever, got real snow (‘83 the biggest exception!)... mostly some form of white stuff to get the kids excited about a possible snow-day, only to turn into slush, then freezing rain overnight, then brown ice... and repeat.
I used to love hit the intercooler sprayer button. I’d probably drain a tank a week of distilled water/week. I don’t have a logical reason why... Maybe because most cars don’t have something like that? Not sure. It just felt like something Knight Rider would have had and therefore, since it came equipped, it must get…
