I dont think Dela was being insincere about how she felt, but I think the producers cut a deal with her so that she could gracefully bow out while adding drama to the show.

Would she really give up the crown? Yes, I dont think she ever really wanted it. I think Dela is really in it because of her love for drag and nothing else. I think the producers wanted some compelling tv and cut a deal with her to have her bow out in her own way.

If you ask me, I think its the producers who wanted Dela to go out in a martyr kind of way. This was totally set up by Ru and the producers to give the fans what they want : More drama, Dela goes out gracefully, Trixie as the winner.
