Oh man! I actually took a picture of something I made today - hopefully someone stars me! It’s an apple and chicken-sausage stuffed acorn squash - made it for dinner last night and had one left over. it reheated beautifully and made a boring work lunch at my desk feel a bit more like a treat.

I made this Caramel Apple cake again this week. The frosting is made using caramel cooked from scratch on the stove, so you need a candy thermometer. The cake itself is awesome, though, so if a multi-layer cake with complicated frosting intimidates you, just make the apple cake on its own or use an easier frosting.

“Minnesota Nice” is less nice and more silent judging, passive aggression, and friendly but distant chit chat. It seems to cause people to snap occasionally. I moved up here from elsewhere in the midwest and sometimes feel like I scare people with my bluntness (which is still not that blunt).
