Sprite filters can look good. A slight softening effect can resemble how a CRT naturally smooths rough corners out, but this is lazy. It resembles those early filters in fan made emulators.

Its not just that the windows just look awful compared to the original anyway. I can take a high res menu over a low res game, but only if it’s well designed. This looks just tossed in, with no thought to placement of elements, how the windows separate themselves amid the game screen, or just, making it look…
The DS version is very good indeed. The only downside there are some weird sound and visual glitches here and there, but they are few and far between. If you want to avoid that, play the SNES original, though it’s missing all the bonus content. Fan hacks to the ROM are also worth checking out, including a full…
Oh, then never mind. I take back my blood oath.
I have failed you! I shall do better next time. This I SWEAR by all the gods and goddesses!
They... think the FF6 sprites look more refined? They think it looks better?
The reviews I check are video critics who talk about it in their car, so that’s the problem I suppose. And yes, plenty of forum goers were bandying that about. I can’t speak for your theater, but I seem to recall mine calling it the 60 fps version on the ticket. Of course I could be mistaken. In any case, as you…
I stil can’t believe they want to turn that into a storied franchise 20 movies deep. What is this, The Land Before Time?
The advertising. I distinctly remember everyone and everything, right down to the ticket I bought for the first one, saying that it was 60 fps. This is the first time I heard otherwise, but in looking it up I’ve confirmed you’re right. Why did all the news sites report 60FPS then? Honestly though, I never understood…
Also, you know, movies play at 24 FPS. So, if 60 is your bare minimum enjoy rewatching The Hobbit over and over again.
Here’s my problem. After one of the big “anniversary” updates, I can’t run executables from any drive connected through USB, and ONLY on drives connected through USB. It gives me a permission error, on a FAT32 formatted flash drive, for daring to run Autoruns directly from it. I have to copy the folder to an internal…
I play Doom 4 at 120 FPS after far FAR too long with an underpowered gaming PC and 4:3 CRT. It will be old again. Getting a good gaming PC is just crazy expensive, so I can only justify the expense every 6 or 7 years.
Did they fix the messed up oversaturation of the FMVs when played on Windows 10? It shows the same issue with Windows 7, but “desktop composition” can at least be turned off there which solves the problem. I’m hoping they moved to a new encoder solution that works better with modern OSes.
As a child of the 80's that loves old cartoons and never really “got” Adventure Time, pretty much every “old” example you gave above is what I would stuff in the “adults just don’t understand!” category of video game based episodes. It really did take my generation growing up and starting to make cartoons for any…
Bringing this back. After the rather lackluster 3D “reimaginings” of SD1&2, I really would rather they just translate SD3 and release this collection in the US.
I don’t really want to ever bother with a game rental service, but these companies have a weird idea of “support” if they think it means “can’t ever compete with stores”.
Not being brave enough to stand behind a new IP is one thing worth criticizing, but the more damning aspect of this game is the micro-transactions to buy more survival tools. Such a thing will utterly ruin the experience.
The model in very pr0totyped form could fit, but yeah I pretty much agree.
Just looking at them I can see why they were all cut. They don’t really fit.
The concessions go straight to the theater. The movie makers don’t see a dime out of that overpriced candy. In my case, neither does the theater. I tend to buy my candy before I go there anyway.
