The whole point of her article is that the problems aren't unique to herself, but there are problems unique to her gender. There are people who are offended by that idea so they dismiss all of her examples. Somehow people don't understand that women can have a more difficult time in certain situations. Which is weird…

(Ref: A lot of the comments on this story) Why is it that certain people, usually males of the majority race, get so offended at the idea that someone else's situation may be more difficult than their own? Is it a threat to all that they have achieved? The answer is no.
I think you missed a lot of the details in this article. Also, I think you missed the idea of how culture can impact those who are not part of the majority. It is usually safer to assume that someone knows what they are talking about until you can prove them wrong, than the other way around.
