Yeah he probably lost half his suction just from not having any kind of gasket or seal between the buckets and wood lip.
Hey remember that advice that you’ve been told for years was the right thing to do? Whellll, it’s the wrong thing to do. Don’t ever do that thing.
I resent the idea that when someone breaks the law, it’s ok for the police to go all crazy-go-nuts on them in the course of apprehension. But, “That guy made me chase him for miles. When I catch up to that motherfucker I’m gonna put him in handcuffs using a reasonable amount of force and then take him to jail to await…
Look at my first reply. I know the difference between what is and what should be. I’m stating what should be. What I, as a consumer, would rather see on an invoice.
Again, mixing labor costs with materials costs. If the part is better, SAY it’s better. I’ll pay for it. Or, give me a choice which part to get. If there’s shipping involved, list it on the invoice, or wrap in into the cost of the part. But ordering and stocking fees are labor charges, not materials charges.
I think he meant a $35 markup on an $80 part. So, a part that cost $80 at the parts counter shows up for $115 on a technician’s invoice.
Whether it’s labor involved in sourcing, checking in, inspecting, or installing the part, it’s still labor and should be billed as such.
I know the difference between “that’s the way it is” vs. “that’s the way it ought to be,” but come on. If the labor rates aren’t paying for the labor, raise them. I’d much rather see a bill with an honest part price and honest labor rates than try to figure out where they hid the extra money they need.
I know one Mike Brewer who’d be quite keen on a car like this, and one Edd China who’d begrudgingly bring it back to as-new condition. This car has Wheeler Dealers written all over it.
Keep in mind that you have to power those ports. If you’re powering them from the Pi itself, make sure you have a power supply for it that gives you some extra juice. The normal 750mA charger likely won’t cut it if you plug more than 1 or 2 things into the usb ports.
What I’m saying is that there is no stigma if you choose to ignore it. If you like a car because of what it can do, that’s great. If you like a car because of how popular it is or isn’t, that’s not fair to the car and it’s doing yourself a disservice.
It’s the same thing as deciding a band isn’t worth listening to…
There are plenty of cars that I really like, the GTR among them. But, I don’t really give a crap what other people think of my preferences. Like what I like? That’s cool, we have something in common. Don’t like what I like? That’s cool too. Doesn’t make you better or worse than me. And, none of the posturing, posing,…
Yes because forget about how the car drives and handles and performs. It’s ALL ABOUT how you look to other people while driving it. Image is everything and objective performance is nothing.
Because even though the webpage is “mostly black,” when the backlight of the monitor is on it’s not truly Black. If the monitor only took up a small bit of a large mirror you’d notice the not-quite-as-dark rectangle of the monitor behind it. When the monitor is the same size as the mirror, your eye is fooled because…
Marty and Moog did a killer job with a 1000% power increase with their WRX-engine-swapped VW beetle sleeper car.
Hey that’s neat. But, like, doesn’t every smartphone capable of browsing to Google that also has the accelerometers to use this level ALSO have a built-in level app?
Every Mac in my house is running ElCap and none of them can see each other with AirDrop. We just set up file sharing like in days of old. Works exactly the same.
The game costs less than your time was worth to type that up.
90% of this project is “Look at my great hand-made, super-precise jigs that I built to make this advanced joinery look easy” which is Matthias Wandel’s MO, frankly. Awesome stuff to watch, but way out of the league of the average DIYer.
