He actually became one of the best parts of Broad City for me. Second only to Ilana.
Lincoln appreciation GIF thread?
A slave who smiles at his child or looks happily at a blue sky is a different thing from “the only thing that put a smile on Hercules’ face was when Lady Washington walked into the kitchen” (approximate quote). The book shows slaves taking pleasure in their masters’ happiness as if that was their purpose in life. It’s…
Can’t wait for Ganeshram’s next story about those great blankets the white man gave the Native Americans.
“Quite surprised by the editorial slant here.”
There’s a new Wal-Mart store coming to your area...
I’d be curious to see where these stores are located. Poor neighborhoods? Rural areas? Because 10 miles is a long distance to find transportation to in those areas. What I am trying to say is, wal mart is going to create food deserts and we are all going to die.
But when life closes a Walmart in one part of the country, it builds a new one somewhere else. The company plans on opening “50 to 60 Supercenters and 85 to 95 of its smaller Neighborhood Markets” in other locations over the next year.
Also, I know everyone is an obnoxious foodie these days but “oat lavash”? It’s bread. I didn’t ask for its life story.
She could definitely do it. I can also see Ming Na Wen or Amy Schumer in the role.
Only tangentially related, but you have inspired me. We need a superhero who fights for reproductive rights and leaves condoms as a calling card. She can show up at women’s health clinics and escort women and chase the crowds away by flinging birth control at them.
Yeah they did kind of go rogue this year, with Mozart in the Jungle and Wolf Hall and whatnot. I like the Globes for the way they honor comedies, and I found it disappointing that they let the Martian game that. Happy that they went rogue for Mr. Robot though, because that show is great. Regarding DiCaprio, though:
Her Secret Service codename is "Clawhammer".
Now I’ve seen it all. High-fallutin’ white people playing air lute.
A doll that costs $115 is BEGGING to be Sharpie’d within an inch of its life.
I think a scar kit would be the better option.
It’s hard to put into words what David Bowie meant to me. “Ziggy Stardust” was the first song I learned to play on guitar. I watched the Labyrinth daily as a child. I listened to his music so much I wore out cassettes and broke CDs. He was this incomprehensible, beautiful alien from beyond who visited Earth for a time…
Any material can fall into disrepair, and according to Holly (whose book I was surprised to find I enjoyed), he really never fixes anything. IIRC, I think she said a fair bit of it was already falling apart, and off-limits for that reason, when she lived there. And the floors are all ruined from allowing pets to drop…
