Video games are entertainment. Just because someone enjoys a WWII docu-drama doesn’t mean they’re going to grab a rifle and storm Normandy. Besides, it’s not as if stylized ultra-violence (and other ostensibly objectionable content) isn’t well-represented in Japanese games already.

I don’t think the problem is the actor, it’s the writing. His dialogue is cartoonish and his leadership (based on what we have seen so far) implausible.

i always thought of it as a slice of life type of thing. for us its a one off thing because we don’t see the big picture, just these little bits of story. in the greater war it may be much more common.

Couldn’t agree more, especially considering that the mom is religious and conservative it shows a lot of backbone to be willing to step over your own opinions and accept your child for who they are and even support them in it while still trying to ‘protect’ them within those confines rather than just being judgemental…
While it make me sad how most of the people decide to talk to her, I’m happy that she and her mother can not only roll with it, but even respond with humor. I’m not sure I’d be able to do that if it was my daughter...
