It's a JDM Toyota Mark X. Russia is full of them.

If that's a GSI, it has serious engine issues.

It's Poland.

Indeed. I must reckon that the brown color in that car stands quite a lot from the rest.

You're so right about the duster. I see dozens every day, just in a different color:

I think Lauda back in his time had a nice share of crap at Ferrari.. check his expression at 0:55..
"the Ferrari is a very good car"... priceless

I initially thought it was the 1JZ-GTE, but it doesn't look like it says 'Tourer V' on the rear badge (last seconds of the pursuit, when the cars are stopped), but it could be!

Proof of how good the Toyota Mark II was: it can be driven fast by a drunk baker.

Nikasil was widely used in many engines here in Europe: BMW's M60, M51 (straight 6), Jaguar V8s, Renault's 1.5l, Ford's 1.7l, and many more. Suzuki used a similar alloy, too. If I'm not mistaken, it's present on the Ferrari F50.

We even have the terms "nikasilation" and "to nikasilate" in our language.

Those lousy boring earthlings and their slow lifes..

Here in Spain it was the car that got a whole generation moving. Lots of families started travelling with them for the holidays (5 people plus dog and baggage, travelling from the inner cities to the coast) and it probably meant the beginning of the car culture here. For many, it is a symbol, and a cult object.

"Javalina produced a new dashboard that displayed its information via a trio of five-inch cathode ray tubes—in essence, miniature television screens. The screens were supplied by Clinton Electronics, which had designed them for the F-15 Eagle tactical fighter program."

Jason, have you seen the earlier models' dash??

It's the 70 BHP turbodiesel, but yeah, that's asking too much, imho.

That engine is not the 50 hp NA, it's the later 70 hp 1.6 Turbo. Add an intercooler and some more boost pressure and that thing is good for 100 hp, which won't feel that sluggish (and that car is light).

I think it may be this one, it's registration is shown at the BAAA-ACRO site.

« L'avion n'était pas loin de la frontière algérienne quand on a demandé à l'équipage de se dérouter à cause d'une mauvaise visibilité et pour éviter un risque de collision avec un autre avion assurant la liaison Alger-Bamako. Le signal a été perdu après le changement de cap »

Was thinking of smaller, older planes being replaced by new-ish planes in smaller airlines, but, yeah, human factor is at fault here.
