This sucks. It grabbed me more than other battle royals and did some really clever things to implement fighting game mechanics into the genre. It was highly experimental and was incredibly fun to play.

Regardless of whether he wanted to or not, he is getting acclaim for mockery of the subjects of his videos, and without clear intent stated, that audience is going to interpret this as having the same vitriol as any other reviewer with “Angry” in their handle.
I think part of the problem is their brand isn’t so much “Here’s what I think of this game” so much as “I am the guy (or one of them) who will make entertaining videos dunking on video games in creative ways.”
The current continuity (so far as IDW anyway) has Transformers be a semi-organic race in the sense they spawn via a budding-esq process - for the most part anyway. A lot of the strife on cybertron started because cybertronians realized they could put a spark into a constructed body instead of waiting for a protoform…
I think this guy is falling into the same trap that other persona-based comedians have in the past; all his fans see are this vitriolic persona, so that’s all they know him as.

I dunno about the rest of you guys, i just play the activity to my satisfaction, maybe grind for a drop of the special weapons I want, or get a couple cosmetics, but I never feel required to play or spend money. When I’m done with it, I’m done with it until the next season.
