"Folk of the Air" is one of his best novels and not well known at all. It is like Society of Creative Anachronism meets real magic. Awesome story and not nearly as depressing as "A Fine and Private Place."

Yes, by all means read the book. It really sheds light on so many things that the film missed, and Peter S. Beagle's prose is oddly enchanting.
