I feel like they damaged the brand so badly last week that they may have had no other choice than to remove that “Made with Unity” screen for personal licenses.

Sweet Jesus. How that CEO is not fired already is beyond me.

At this point the damage is already done. Fuck Unity. Every developer that is able to do so should start working toward publishing any future projects they start on something other than Unity. If it’s not feasible for a project to change mid-development, then that should be finished with Unity and they should work

Lol, it doesn’t matter. They might retain some smaller indies, but any larger indie studios or AA/AAA studios who were previously using unity are gonna jump. Any new developers are going to find so much negativity towards unity when evaluating what engine to use they’re going to use godot or unreal.

It is going to take

Canada sent a sonar probe down to listen for banging, tapping, and talking. So far nothing.
They mentioned 96 hours of air supply. Based off how shitty this thing was built? I’m guessing it was less. And they’ve already passed the point of no return.

What’s crazy is that they did all this without going through the

There’s a joke that starts out “what do you call 5 billionaires at the bottom of the ocean?” but it may be too soon for the punchline.

RMS not HMS, important distinction to make. Also they weren’t ‘searching’ they were visiting.

I just don’t get it. Not the fascination with the Titanic that I get because it’s a big ass boat that sank. It’s seeing that submersible but still entrusting your life to it and paying $250K for the privilege that I don’t get.

Horrible time for a joke, but I like the cut of your jib.  That was a good one.

Yeah, I’d only be down to be under like 10ft of water, max. Nothing I can’t theoretically swim out of without dying or getting hella bends.

I wouldn’t get on anything that goes underwater unless it was like a nuclear submarine or something operated by actual professionals. And even then I wouldn’t.

Sadly, it doesn’t seem like there are many scenarios in which these people are still alive. Also worth mentioning that I strongly recommend against looking up anything about explosive decompression and its effects. Please, spare yourself.

What’s the odds on it being Orcas continuing their class uprising?

RMS Titanic. Not HMS.

Well at least we’ve already got our (noun)Gate name for when this turns into a conspiracy where they've been covering up negligence.

I gotta disagree with the assessment of the controller’s value vs safety towards the end of your article. It should be made clear that while yes, xbox controllers are technically in use on the attack subs, even the linked article indicates those controllers have nothing to do with actually controlling the movement of

We are talking about it and reddit is down because they chose to shut down whole sections of the site. Nobody would care or notice if a few people deleted their accounts.

Part of the idea is if your favorite subreddits are dark, you won’t visit reddit at all. That’s what I’m doing. The subs I would normally go to reddit for are dark. So, I’m just not using reddit today. Deleting your account doesn’t send as much of a message because it’s permanent. If you just stop using it today and

Yeah, and it echoes something I’ve been saying for years - the boom/bust cycle of platforms is getting really frustrating for users to have to switch every time some vulture capitalist decides that it’s time to wring every last penny out of the platform.

The bandwidth itself is relatively cheap. At an average 1kb payload per request, Apollo’s 7 billion monthly requests add up to about $500 on AWS (where, as far as I know, Reddit is hosted). The compute costs of retrieving and assembling the request data are much harder to estimate but they’re going to be the bigger
