They probably could have aged Moana up to 18/19 and it would have worked. I really hope this wasn’t because of gross “she’s too light-skinned to play the role” nonsense.

lmao
Feige is a good guy . . . for an executive. Granted, that’s a low bar to clear.
“We want accurate queer representation in media”
I see the writing team displaying a true narcissistic personality on the show (Jack) and modeling how one might deal with that type of abuse, (love bombing or idealization, devaluation and discarding etc.). The show does a good job messing with expectations/tropes so far (Nate’s storyline is interesting). Why…
So queer people can’t be emotionally abusive? I actually liked a queer emotionally abusive individual because it made them a person versus an archetype. It normalizes the lifestyle which makes being queer normal - as it should be.
I haven’t watched the latest ep yet, but the Jade hit I got wasn’t so much racist as she was unimpressed with his attempts to throw being a big-time football coach around. (She also seems to have the built-in armor most female servers/hostesses have about customers hitting on them.)
What I thought sold her was that he…
Jezebel seems to take female victimization to a ridiculous level. The Jack/Keely storyline was wholly unnecessary - it felt like they were putting in a gay storyline because they had literally nothing else to talk about. This has certainly been the case with this aimless season that appears to be working towards…
“And he seemed to have a particular grudge against creatives, an odd position for someone who purposefully entered the creative-driven comic book publishing business.”
No. That’s not odd at all. Comics execs have always treated creators like complete dog shit, which is why so much of the golden and silver age comic…
agree with all of that. and with the right budget and script i think Inhumans could’ve worked, but obviously that wasn’t the case. I’m glad Anson Mount got to play a more proper Blackbolt in MoM at least.
What’s happening here (or actually what happened 4 years ago) is that culture tends toward short term obsessions. For about half a decade, the MCU was one of those obsessions. It ended, appropriately, with Endgame, and since then people have been peeling away because there was never any chance that superhero movies,…
Well, if the four random assholes you work with say it’s over, I guess Disney is going to have to give back that half a billion dollars they just made in two weeks...
Meanwhile GotG 3 has already grossed over $500 Million in less than 2 weeks.
Interesting how many people myself included think The Winter Soldier was the best MCU film.
The whole Feige/Perlmutter thing is super interesting. The craziest part to me is that even 32 movies in, the best movie is still one that came out when Perlmutter was in charge (Captain America: Winter Soldier).
Marvel did a great job with the Inhumans. It just happened to be that the great job was done in Agents of SHIELD, not the show actually called Inhumans.
Apparently what really sent Feige running to Iger was Perlmutter trying to force him to not have Robert Downey Jr. in Civil War, despite the whole concept of the movie being a fight between Cap and Tony.
and had the toys replace all the female heroes’ big moments with male ones (most notably giving Black Widow’s motorcycle drop from Age of Ultron to Captain America).
Perlmutter is also the reason it took so long to get movies about Black Panther and Captain Marvel, fired Terrence Howard the second he started making waves because “no one can tell black people apart,” and had the toys replace all the female heroes’ big moments with male ones (most notably giving Black Widow’s…
All Marvel stuff would be like Inhumans, that would suck.
