Thank you for not calling it Sunday gravy!

No, I’m not. Aircraft lifespans are not calculated by years, but rather by cycles. That’s why older aircraft often fly as freighters - they fly less cycles than passenger airplanes. With appropriate maintenance, an airplane can fly for decades.

I think mostly climate. The areas with the volcanic soils just don’t have the climate to support large scale tomato growing. Sure, you’ll see them at farmer’s markets and stuff, but that person probably started them in a greenhouse and has either a greenhouse or hoop house. The growing season in that area is only

I was always under the impression that Sunday sauce should include the remnants of the week; i.e. the sausage, short ribs and spare ribs would not have been bought for the dish but would be the leftovers from other meals throughout the week. Likewise the week’s leftover potatoes would be transformed into gnocchi. As

This sounds a lot like Neapolitan Ragu where you basically braise pork spare ribs in a tomatoe sauce for hours. Not surprising since east coast eye-talians are southerners. I need to do this one of these days just don’t have the patience to braise meat for hours anymore or maybe i dont have the time.

Yes - airlines aren’t just out to screw everyone over and most complainers are people who rarely fly. I am loyal to United (Continental pre-merger) and have been for 15 years. I spend a lot of money with them and I wouldn’t bother to keep loyalty (“elite” status) without the minor perks I receive such as “premium”

Wow - such contempt, such condescension. Please grow up and write with more maturity and clarity of thought.

social signalling aspect” ... oh come the fuck on.

You are correct, I don’t need my Kitchen-Aid stand mixer. I also don’t need beer, sex or joy. But life would suck without all those things, including my mixer.

The benefit of a stand mixer starts to change once you get attachments. We grind our own meat—and while I’m not ever going to make my own sausages, the meat grinding attachment came with the attachments to make sausages as well.

A good chunk of those boomers probably have pensions on top of their 401ks.

You think a road in the United States called “I-690" is a city street?

He was initially charged with reckless driving but after review it was determined the guy wasn’t set and the call was reversed.

No. It vests based on length of time you’re working there. If it’s unvested when you quit, you can’t get around it by not rolling it over.

Mike, I am happy you are doing well and that you were able to play whilst recovering. This story hits close to home with me, as last year from thanksgiving to mid-Jan I was in the hospital having been in the ICU in a coma and later, in rehabilitation learning to walk again. Once I was able to use my hands well enough,

Not many movies where he wasn’t.

Type 1 DM is not in and of itself a disability (of course it is a disease/condition). However if you had diabetic neuropathy, diabetic eye disease, renal failure secondary to DM etc, that would be different. (I am an MD, that is what I would sign off on).

How the fuck does Type 1 diabetes qualify as a disability? Disorder or disease yes, disability no.

It’s mentioned in the post but if you’re a vet with a service connected disability you qualify regardless of the % of your disability.
