I say we make some donations. How about some upgraded F-16's? I say about 25-30 that will help for sustained operations. Lockheed can crank em out pretty quick. I think the latest generation will suffice since many of them are all ready in the middle east.

Wow no PDK. I am not interested. If the SUV gets the PDK then I want one too.

In times like this a heavy bomb truck is great like a B-52, It does need replacing with a modern bomber capable of doing all the current missions and future ones. It is no secret the B-52 is old and tired and needs replacement, The maintenance costs are high, reliability is not that great as we face shortages of spare

This is where you are wrong. If you stop innovating you will lose the next battle. The B-2 is getting old and is being challenged by upcoming Russian/Chinese designs. and when you say "sufficiently modern" you can not be referring to the B-52/B-1 that are currently in service and are due to re replaced are you? There

Another great article

Can we get an explanation of the last picture? This seems like a good story right there.

I believe this is a problem not often discussed. AEGIS ships carry and good amount of missiles in VLS form but when they are empty they are empty. Hard to reload with shore infrastructure and I believe the at sea loading mechanism has been pulled form the ships.

OTS tech is the best way in this case. This is no the Zumwalt class and we don't need revolutionary design and tech. We need to keep pace with modern designs and technolgy but that is readily available to America and should not be a problem. Now the Mk56 is a great idea but is it reloadable at sea (Mk41 really is not

What we have here is not a lack of thought or technology but a lack of price to performance.

I hope they do close Chrysler. They are a poor company with lackluster products

True but the Spruance were available when the navy needed a upgrade form the 1950's.

A Ticonderoga type of ship would be a poor choice. The first gen Aegis radars need a lot more maintenance but the most important aspect is that those already retired do not have VLS launchers. They only have the older and no longer used mark 26 launcher system which is not compatible with modern missiles. That and

The UH-1 is not finished at all. The USAF still operates a fairly robust fleet for missile operations and the USMC is upgrading the existing UH-1N to the UH-1Z standard. Some of the UH-1Z are new build aircraft not refurbished ones.
