They can have all the lore they want, but until I see it, it doesn’t exist in the movies. As far as I’m concerned with the movie, they have X wings and Tie fighters.

The inconsistency in it seem to me to be a result of production attempting to create as familiar of a movie as possible, and not make too many risky steps, going as far as to essentially use the same material from New Hope but updated.

I figured out the problem. I just copy the files between computers because there’s no reason to dig my disk copy out of storage hell. It technically counts it as illegitimate for patch purposes. So I just went and got my disk.

While I can understand that, there’s also the fact that the order and the alliance seemingly have lost access to vast amounts of technology. The rebels, in 40 years or whatever, managed to lose all their B wings, Y wings, A wings, cruiser style ships, and diversified weapon selection. I would think they’d have…
