@brownie demands JFG revival: From a bit of a behind-the-scenes perspective, let's just say that it's totally honest to call Al the "Ombudsman". He has served us, the Commentariat, extremely well by bringing criticism to an administration who certainly don't welcome it at all, and allowing it to be heard in a way

@Elhigh: I like the way you think, sir. Very much indeed.

@snapoversteer: Well done! Along with your Gold Star comes the first awarded invitation to the Cotomer Sevis Rep Smoking Lounge, since I don't see your name on the list as of yet. Send me a private message if you're already on Facebook, and I'll send the invite.

@rickerbr: Also: for a well-worded, reasoned and considered response, and intelligent arguments that led to a good discussion, I award you a coveted Limited Edition Deartháir Hearty-Clickie™.

@pauljones: Hopefully it features women smart enough to recognize the value of a diesel.

@engineerd: No way, man. You're a conservative, I'm a liberal. Or, as SuzanneD calls me, I'm A Filthy Socialist Bastard, and as I call her, you're a Disgusting Capitalist Pig.

@Al Navarro: I second that. Mr. Jones, your aggressive policing of the idiocy that has been running rampant of late has earned you my sincerest respect.

Uh yeah, thanks, but no thanks.

@BoomhauerTX: No, they don't want us fucking things up again. I'd rather not get banhammered again.

Smalley, well done, and an absolutely, enthusiastically well-deserved COTD victory. I'd personally like to thank you for being positive and charitable in your comment, even when directed at someone you clearly don't agree with. And Matt... er... John [...John? What the fuck are you doing here?], thanks for choosing

@CJinSD: And nobody familiar with a VW would ever consider a Honda. They're totally different vehicles. And you're pandering to a stereotype that is so tired and inaccurate that it does absolutely nothing more than make you look foolish. Perhaps you'd also like to ramble on about how you can't drive a Jaguar at night

@dal20402: As far as I can see, that diesel is only available on the 2500-model Rams or above. The Titan is only competing with the 1500.

@MarywithanM: as you were: I appeal to the referee for a review of the videotape. I believe any discussions of redneckery in a pickup truck thread are on-topic.

Thank goodness. I've contemplated a Titan a few times now, and quite like them, aside from a few niggling details about the interior plastics. (Shut up, I'm a Volkswagen snob.)

@S3L3SC: Hm. I had heard that project had been cancelled, but now I can't find anything at all to back that up; in that case, I stand corrected.

@cgarison: As pointed out a few times below; the Touareg is substantially larger than the Pilot. In Canada, at least, the Touareg is a full-size, the Pilot is a midsize.

@MaWeiTao: You, sir, have wholeheartedly earned a hearty-clickie from me. Yours is the calibre of comment we used to see non-stop around here, and which seems to have faded in favour of "OMG U SUX" idiocy. Thank you for that, it's like a breath of fresh air.

@S3L3SC: Not to my knowledge. The engine was not rear-mounted for quirkiness, but because it makes it easier to work on in third-world countries, and also about fifteen thousand times easier and cheaper to manufacture, based on the strategy they were originally pursuing.
