Agreed. How does something this weak even get published? Does the author think he’s ruining Ansari’s routine by summarizing his jokes, or is he just trying to bore us all to death with his writing style?

Fact. On Jezebel 2018, everything is a micro-aggression, and all offenses demand a lifetime of exile from society.
Meanwhile, most of the uber-liberal, die-hard, Jez fans probably advocte for prison reform and rehabilitating inmates for reintroduction into society... sort of hypocritical.
It’s hard to believe that we reminisce of Denton’s ownership as the glory days. I haven’t been paying close enough attention to notice when the shift happened, but I concur that the current era of Jezebel is hot garbage.
I’ve been a commenter on here forever and am part of this community. I see you’re gray. Are you a part of this community? Or are you just having fun being mean to other commenters?
Agreed. I got to teach Women’s Studies last fall and when I reflect back on the class, I realize I never gave out a single Jez article. 5 years ago that would not have been the case.
Agreed. And your PETA analogy is spot on.
Similar to you, I discovered Jezebel before I knew of the other sites on GMG, but it’s the one I frequent less because of reasons similar to the ones you stated. I still like the special blogs like Would U and March Madness, but that’s about it.
Yeah, and anyone that’s ever written anything would cringe at the thought of someone carelessly paraphrasing everything you wrote/ said, even if it was meant to be supportive, which this wasn’t.
This site has reached PETA levels of absurdity. Instead of focusing on the specific occurrences that are of actual importance, and worthy of rage, vitriol and most importantly discussion, they have to go so over top on every little thing. This only serves to weaken any stance they have on any of the actual legitimate…
Any article by this author is unnecessary.
I’m super liberal, and still find the majority of the content on Jezebel cringeworthy. The types of stories Jezebel 2018 publishes are the exact kind of extremism that gets spotlighted by the right in an effort to show people in the middle how crazy liberals are. Instead of growing the cause of progressive feminism…
Yeah it’s a fucking mess and I don’t get what it is they’re trying to say either. I think the point might be that Vulture significantly changed their piece, deleting a lot of it so as not to reveal a lot of Ansari’s material, which does seem strange because I’ve read reviews of comedy shows before and they didn’t seem…
Imagine writing a description of a Mitch Hedberg show. “He concluded with some brief non sequiturs about absurd and frankly unlikely situations. I guess you had to be there?”
I don’t even understand this article. Was Jezebel mad that Vulture changed their story to not ruin his comedy set, so they decided to rehash it to actively try to ruin it instead?
Yep. But it’s important that we be mad about anything and everything I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
“vulture didn’t want to ruin his set, but we thought we’d jump in an ruin it anyway!” because reasons.
Right? Maybe I need to re-read it, but what I got was “Vulture retracted part of their story to not ruin his comedy set, but we going to actively try to ruin it in their stead!”
You’re missing the point. They don’t care if they ruin his set.
I say this in a way that is divorced from Aziz or the woman victimized:
Was Ansari ever really shunned though? As far as I know, his show wasn’t cancelled and there seemed to be a general consensus that the Babe article was shitty journalism and that what was described in it hardly rose to the level of #metoo worthy outrage, and that we needed to have a conversation about how he acted…
