100% this. The vast majority of cruising sailboat owners are people who have worked their asses off in regular jobs, for many years, scrimping and saving and being as self-reliant as possible in order to fulfill a lifelong dream.

When the K-9 is unable to participate in the training leave the dog in an air conditioned indoor kennel. Safe spaces. Somehow I manage to keep my canine friend alive and safe over the years.

Why weren’t both officers attending the training classes? If they were running drills/scenarios, the dog would’ve/should’ve been part of the real situation, and if they’re doing classwork, the dog could just chill, inside, like most other service animals.

At less than 3 miles a cheap e-bike would work pretty well.
