OH MY GOD private individuals should not be beta-testing autonomous driving technology on public roads. Will you please quit drinking the kool aid for two seconds and realize how completely batshit absurd this whole thing is.

The website for that abomination is a highly entertaining disaster. From the lack even the most basic proofreading to the blatantly false advertising, the grift is so obvious that it’s hard to tell if it’s sincere or satire. Observe:

The overall design looks sharp and distinctive. But it’s suffering from the usual Korean problem- it’s way too busy. The black lower body panels on the rocker and rear bumper need to be same color as the rest of the body. The unnecessarily busy and fussy front grill area needs to be cleaned up.

What’s with the threats of “ass kicking” all the time from people?

The thing I always find funny is they think the date the pull is “correct” in a malfunctioning car. Not saying this wasn’t a case of wrong pedal but expecting the malfunctioning car to read correctly is kinda wild.

I see this and keep thinking about all the times I was completely disregarded, nearly hit, or actually hit while walking/riding through intersections where I clearly had right of way. When you’re a pedestrian, you’re somehow too small for drivers to see you. When you’re a cyclist, cars somehow have the right of way

Curb weight seems a little more reasonable. GVWR includes full payload capacity. I imagine for things like a truck, the % of their GVWR that is related to theoretical load capacity is a higher % than on a sedan. And doesn’t seem totally fair to charge a vehicle based on the theoretical absolute max weight it might

Because the government is right-leaning and wants to punish EV drivers for their “wokeness”. Thus, they can’t be trusted to act in good faith. EV drivers will end up paying multiple times that of a typical ICE vehicle in fees.

It’s a social network with a relatively low # of active users, but that journalists make ultra-influential by reporting on every tweet, like, or retweet that a couple individuals make.

this would be much better than what we currently have in Indiana. in Indiana if you have an EV you have to pay a flat $150 fee every year on top of your other registration fees. that fee isn’t bad compared to the gas tax if you drive a lot but if you don’t drive a lot, like myself, it means you are paying a lot more

A new car in the teens?  Which decade did you time-warp back to?

All Champagne is sparkling wine. Not all sparkling wine is Champagne.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present the CyberSedan

That’s not a bad idea on the surface, but the fee would have to be much greater than what the professor suggests. I’m actually an auto industry analyst by trade. I don’t know if you ever heard the term price elasticity in school, but the long and short of it is that when applied to large expensive vehicles, $500 isn’t

I really want to visit Norway. I don’t mind driving slowly.

Yup... and with ‘reports’ like this is how the anti-BEV crowd likes to spread FUD about BEVs.

I don’t want to derail the story, but like, fucking keys man man. What was wrong with a key?

Not only that, it was supposed to release 2 YEARS earlier than it is now reportedly going to start shipping. You guys remember in 2019 when the Elon simps were trying to clown on legacy auto because the “Tesla truck actually exists” while all the others were just rumors? And now they’re barely going to beat fucking

I am continually amazed that somehow people think they have the right to a car that can go 200mph on public roads.
