That’s the thing. If someone is willing to pay MSRP + $20k, why shouldn’t VW or the dealer get that money? When you force dealers to sell at MSRP when the market demand justifies a higher price, then it’s the buyer that gets to take the difference between market value and MSRP when they re-sell it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it works that way. You don't just get to pay the tipped minimum wage because you collect tips on your payment system.
