1st: we have a similar program here in BC, though much less generous at only $1050. There is no other incentive program for e-bike purchases. They don’t even waive the sales tax like they do on conventional pedal bikes.

First, kudos to the first couple videographers who know how the f%ck to hold their phone when filming.
The guy in front of you was probably just having an anxiety attack, brought on by either a reaction to needles, or fear of rare negative consequences.
Just like Canada, though, the population is very concentrated. In Canada’s case it’s on the US border, in Australia’s case it’s the coasts. I’m sure the majority of Aussies would be well-served with EVs.
Well, the Apple cult is the only one bigger than Musk’s, so there’s that. And they are sitting on so much cash they gotta burn it on something!
What exactly are they patenting, here? The overall design? There’s nothing particularly new or novel here.
Just what automakers want: a system that almost completely eliminates their opportunity to differentiate themselves, relegating cars to a commodity item with almost no gross margin potential.
The lack of options for people are a big part of the problem in a country built around personal automobile travel. It forces a lot of people that can’t afford a car into buying one.
So pointless the person filming couldn’t even be assed to turn their phone sideways and record it properly. Sheesh.
But you were way too cool to be sitting at the front, right, Justin?
This would have been lame in 1993 when their best stuff was already 20 years in the rearview mirror. And the clothes look like cheap trash.
Imagine all those people driving instead. Yikes.
You must be in Nova Scotia? That’s the only province in Canada where your marginal rate above $216k would be that high.
I’m not sure that’s the main purpose of the deflopinator. Often I’ll be stopped on my regular bike and reaching for a beg button and the front wheel will crank over and want to pull my bike down. Even with my relatively light bike, if I have ten pounds in my trunk bag it can be hard to stop. Imagine a cargo bike…
Do you have really short legs, or do you like the ultra-low cruiser seat height?
At present EVs are definitely better suited to people in detached homes.* Dealing with apartments is a problem that needs solving. In my area, new apartment construction is now required to pre-wire parking stalls for chargers. This will increase the cost of new construction, but over time it will increase the number…
Find me a standard dump truck that carries 25-30 tons of bulk material and I’ll take that moron from you. Find me someone that sells 25-30 tons of gravel or sand for something more than a tiny fraction of what 25-30 tons of consumer or commercial goods are worth, I’ll take that moron from you.
It is truly nuts. The fastest I’ve ever been was an indicated 135mph (so probably something less than 130) on a ZX-6R. I was getting buffeted around so much it was nuts. I can’t imagine adding another ton on top of that!
Not a bad guess. I happen to work in the recreational marine industry (not Yamaha), so I may have some knowledge about that particular engine.
I have a theory that the quality of commercial drivers is proportional to the value of the cargo they carry. Dump trucks and garbage trucks haul cargo of essentially zero value, so you do the math.
