The Dracula thing is an almost absurdly deep cut — I don’t think there’s ever been an adaptation of the book that bothers to mention it — but it is technically accurate. The best kind of accurate!

Only Dracula bought multiple properties so that he would always have somewhere to run to when the sun came up. I don’t

I mean it’s hardly the same thing. The scale of evil between what the Lodges apparently do and what the Serpents do isn’t even on the same page.

Man, totally dissing on The Specials here. Pretty sure that was Gunn’s feature debut.

“it’s a rare pleasure, watching a great actor play a great villain.”

Actually, Howard wrote about twenty Conan stories. One or two giant snakes. He was as racist as the average Texan of his era (1906-1936), but nowhere near as bad as Lovecraft. As far as hackwork goes, depends on your definition. He was writing to make a living, and that means if you want to get paid, you get it done

I got behind them simply because they were good.

Best Buy used to get all kinds of weird stuff. I got a Death In June single at one once!
Then they were worth going to because for some reason they’d score exclusive issues of albums with bonus tracks.

I haven’t bought a CD from Best Buy in ages...the selection is awful and they stopped fighting (now long closed) mom & pop record stores with loss leader prices.

But I’m still buying plenty of CDs...both for myself and my 8 year-old son. (He’s got nearly 300 CDs...but that doesn’t hold a candle to his old man’s

Yep. And it’s just fun. Everyone is insane. And I theorise it’s set in an alt universe, the Riververse. The seasons come and go, in no particular order, in the same episode. The town boundaries are ever-shifting, and there’s a possibly fake and imaginary FBI agent.

And everyone knows that Mr. Belvedere—-or Brocktoon as I like to call him—-deserved to be murdered by his most ardent fans...

It was indeed a shitty cover, but I still stand by Blue Skies Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits and Look Forward to Failure

“from 2009 to 2006"?

I’m sorry, but a reasonable person can have doubts about the Woody Allen allegations if you know all the facts. Does nobody remember the McMartin preschool case (and others like it during the 80s)? It’s quite possible for Allen to be a perv but not actually guilty of anything.

What is “The Point”? Genuine question, since somehow, “sexual harassment exists on a continuum” is apparently the wrong take.

FP gives Jughead a vintage Underwood 21 typewriter?

“...you’re not going to see him wear his Serpents jackets at Pop’s with Archie and the gang, after all.”

Yeah, it was a big old mess.

However, while I agree with LaToya that there’s no reason why Hiram should pay Fred’s medical bills, this comment kinda lost me:

I don’t know about you, but I never:

Cheryl’s intentions toward Josie are perhaps not totally clear, but her fixation on her is the one thing that really popped for me in this episode—in two brief scenes that storyline got super-creepy and interesting (and of course it was already wildly sexy, because those two actresses).

Why shouldn’t people concern themselves with the distinction again? A person accused of involuntary vehicular manslaughter isn’t immediately levied as a serial killer.
