So you spend the entire article telling us the multitude of ways the show fails in every aspect of it’s presentation, admit that it was universally hated by people on both sides of the culture war, (One of the few pieces of content they DO agree on), and yet still feed us the same old tired, “Unjustified condemnation

I think it’s a wonderful film because it raises those topics you say, but you judge its intentions under the worst faith reading possible.

I’m a much bigger Star Trek fan than Star Wars, but Roddenberry was problematic as hell and shouldn’t be remembered half as fondly as he is.

Well, thank God we have you around, to inform us “dudes” how we “missed the point entirely.” I guess, if I had a quibble, you could have explained what you think Johnson is actually saying, since everybody but you has it so wrong, but I wouldn’t want to intrude on your genius.

He has a podcast!!!! Oh then he must be famous! Either that or he’s every third white guy in America.

We get it, you really hate Nic Pizzolatto for daring to have an opinion about *checks notes* the show he created.

The hilarious thing is that while AVC is trying to drag the guy here, over on the AVC review of True Detective’s last episode the majority of people seem to agree with him that the show was mediocre at best and the final episode was garbage.

How come 1/2 (or more) of the hard rock and metal guitarists of the ‘80s and ‘90s site Ace as their favourite guitar player, or the reason they even picked up a guitar? KISS have a LOT of bad songs (and some of them are raging dickheads), but their first 6 albums (plus the 2 live ones) are pretty kick-ass - far above

Ackshualllyyy...

Watch the Sinead O’Connor documentary. That scene where Kris Kristofferson goes out to physically defend and support her while she’s trying to stand in front of the crowd for a show is exemplary of how much of a goddamn hero this dude is.

*alone on my island*

“It’s not as funny as it used to be”

Does it have a scene where Kerry is so fucked up on drugs that he slices his arm open with a razor blade taped to his finger right before his match with The King?

Oh my god, we can’t even escape you types on other websites! I lurk on some wrestling boards and the use of the term “midget” to refer to anyone under 8' and 5000 lbs of roided out fury is just bananas.

The AVClub years ago - before Kinja, before Univision, before venture capitalists - would have had hundreds of comments attached to a review of a show like this.

It’s fascinating how hard the writer of this article works to not say how terrible this trailer is/how bad it makes the film look.

Again with this? I heard stories about Lee’s arrogance and cockiness decades before the movie was made. Tarantino didn’t make it up. The story the scene is loosely based on has also been out for years.

Why does it need to die, it is still good. You don’t like it stop watching it.

It'll be fine. Dragged Across Concrete is a grim masterpiece and Gibson doesn't distract from that at all.

Stahelski: “one of the best worst films ever.”
I don’t know this guy and don’t care, but that is some grade A arrogance and condescension. It’s a brilliant flick: original story, amazing soundtrack, bad-ass villain. The story is tight and compelling (because the stakes are so high). It’s incredibly sexy, it’s
