I live in the U.K. and there’s a clause in my car insurance that states that my insurance is not valid on the Nurburgring. It’s not particularly special insurance either. A couple of my mates have noticed it too on theirs.

Well apart from the fact we have plenty, dating right back to the first Impreza STIs.
I was about to say me, but I’m one of those people who complains when people like Subaru stop importing cars. Then continue to drive my 12 year old Legacy, and only consider buying 10 year old JDM imports.
Bang on, also a UK Jalop with a 3.0 manual Legacy estate. It really annoys me how they haven’t at least try and take the fight to the Golf R and other hot hatches in the UK. I regularly still have people I know say to me about how cool my boring silver Subaru is, because it’s a fast Subaru and people of the UK still…
I had fun driving one of these. I still think it was an awful, soulless piece of crap that drove awfully and unpredictably exactly like she said in the article. I hated the thing, she’s still completely correct.

I still think it was an awful, soulless piece of crap that drove awfully and unpredictably exactly like she said in the article, with a terrible interior that isn’t anywhere near as good as my Subaru Legacy that’s 12 years old. The one I rented had some sort of cup shaped object in that hole that came from the factory, I’m not sure what it was suppose to do, but I used it as a cup holder anyways.
lol, it’s funny you posted this, I rented a Mitsubishi ASX (same car, but I’m in England) and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever driven. I hated it so much, basically for the same reason.
I really hope Alfa pull back out of America, if you’re just going to complain about reliability.
I’m talking about the opinion of an average person. Nobody cares that Cadillac makes cars with some of the best chassis on the market.
I’ve said this for years now, that BMW not catering to enthusiasts will hurt them long term. We do actually help sell cars because we’re the people who the average person listens too, whether because we’re motoring journalists or they’re like “oh Dean likes his BMWs, but he says the new ones are awful, I’m going to go…
Sir Chris Hoy isn’t a 24 Hours of Le Mans winner tbf. When it comes to Motorsport he’s still very much an amateur, despite the fact he is a 6 time Olympic Champion and 11 time World Champion at Track Cycling.
Deserve it for driving a fucking Megane CC. Shit car. I’m glad.
I know what you mean, the M-Sport trim is ridiculous. My 2001 E46 330i (manual touring btw) has 10 M-badges on it, fortunately just 4 on the wheels on the outside, and at least that has a 3.0 six and is faster than an E30 M3. But yeah, every car with the M-Sport trim now has an M badge on the front wings too.
I just rented a Mitsubishi ASX (Outlander Sport to you Americans) this weekend. I’m used to driving E46s, and wow, I hated it. The chassis doesn’t feel too bad, but the electric steering is awful.
That’s actually my plan to use a Clio 182 as a daily, as I’ve only just started a new job so can’t afford finance yet. Think I’d be unimpressed with a GT86 compared to my Clio and 330i.
I do need to try one, I really want to like it, I’m just not sure if I can do with the lack of useable torque.
I agree it’s silly that he’s not bothered about handling but wants more power. But I kinda want both? I think it’s because I’m European and we have so many SuperHatches (I think it’s okay to call them that now), I love me a Megane RS and a Clio RS, and they’re as good around a corner as this thing, and will utterly…
I hope too soon, I love the idea of these little things, I’m just not sure of the daily performance that’s all. My E46 has 70 lb-ft of torque more too you know, which is a lot.
I think I changed something similar when removing the gearbox from my E46 330i. Ended up snapping the clip off, only £3.50 for a new one at my BMW dealer.
